'Pathway' is an abstract painting from Stephanie's 2023 'New Earth' series.

This painting is a special one for me, emotionally and creatively. There's a freedom in the uncertainty of the horizon and a sense of 'a loss of ground' beneath one's feet. It evokes a childlike quality of exploration and wonder. I particularly love the brushwork and balance of negative space in this work.

Pathway is painted on quality 12oz canvas. The image will extend around the side (after stretching) as per the images. If you would like a floating frame similar to the image please see the listing options for a quote.

Pathway will be finished in 2 coats of satin lacquer for protection and longevity.

Stephanie grew up in the Country areas of the New South Wales Central Coast and moved to the Gold Coast in 1997 to be closer to her family. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, and Newstead Brisbane.
