Quasar

‘Quasar' is a 91 x 91cm, original painting from my 'Momentum' series. This series explores the element of contrast, primarily between spontaneous and deliberate brush techniques as well as contrast in relation to tone and space, which includes the negative white space surrounding the circle. This series is an extension of my 'Completeness of Imperfection' series with the addition of colour.

Quasar has an earthy textured base and comes framed in a beautiful oak floating frame (included).

Stephanie grew up in the Country areas of the New South Wales Central Coast and moved to the Gold Coast in 1997 to be closer to her family. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, and Newstead Brisbane.
