Rainforest flight - Square, blue, yellow abstract

Rainforest flight is a beautiful, original, 88 x 88cm painting with painted 2cm sides so it's ready to hang. This artwork is rich in texture and colour.

This is a special piece that wasn't part of a series but I felt inspired to paint something that reflected the feeling of looking up at parrots darting through the rainforest canopy. Flashes of colourful feathers and sunlight merging in a sense of delight and wonder. I loved this feeling and wanted to capture it in an abstract painting.

Rainforest flight is painted on canvas attached to board so it's a bit heavier than a stretched canvas. The painting wraps around the sides of the board and there's a hanging string attached to the back so it's ready to hang.

Stephanie grew up in the Country areas of the New South Wales Central Coast and moved to the Gold Coast in 1997 to be closer to her family. Daughter of political cartoonist Larry Pickering and one of eleven children, she enjoyed a colourful and interesting childhood. With a background in graphic design she was a partner in 'Studio Otto Illustration and Design' for 12 years before deciding to devote her time fully to painting in 2007. Solo Exhibition venues include Gold Coast 'Home of the Arts', Bundall, Doggett Street Studio, and Newstead Brisbane.
