Falmouth is a quiet coastal settlement on Tasmania’s northeast shore, perched above a long sweep of the Tasman Sea. With its wide horizons, rugged rocks, and gentle sense of solitude, Falmouth feels like a place where the landscape speaks more loudly than the town itself.

Steve Myers is a Tasmania-based artist who mainly works in oils. A principal theme in Steve's work is the ocean where he finds his escapism and inspiration. Steve started surfing at the young age of four and he has always been drawn to the sea, its energy, and its vastness which provoke emotion that he tries to capture in his art. Steve mostly paints Tasmanian seascapes, particularly the wild west coast and its rugged beauty and remoteness.
