The sky stretches wide and clear above the coastline, holding that soft golden light unique to late February. Everything carries a quiet, unhurried calm, as if the season is pausing before it turns.

Steve Myers is a Tasmania-based artist who mainly works in oils. A principal theme in Steve's work is the ocean where he finds his escapism and inspiration. Steve started surfing at the young age of four and he has always been drawn to the sea, its energy, and its vastness which provoke emotion that he tries to capture in his art. Steve mostly paints Tasmanian seascapes, particularly the wild west coast and its rugged beauty and remoteness.
