Artwork Description

On a quiet walk through the local park where there is a couple of lakes with waterlilies, I was immediately captivated by the sun on the water. I saw the patterns in the water made by the overhanging branches and trees surrounding the lake which created beautiful reflections and quiet pockets of beauty. The water was dotted with splashes of blue sky reflection and the overall effect was calming and relaxing. I love the beauty of simple scenes from nature and absorb them to create in many styles. Water has almost a personality on its own and this piece will talk to you with its quiet natural beauty and soft colours adding charm and life to your room. The painting is a large statement piece to add that special touch to your room.

Hang it in an entry way or lounge or living room to add quiet restful beauty to your room. The painting has been continued around the edges so there is no need to frame the piece to enjoy its natural beauty. It is truly a story of a painting in that there is so much for you to look at and find to interest you in the reflective blues and startling pink blooms against the water lily pads.

Artist Bio

My work is an expression of my deep connection to nature, drawn from the subtle beauty I encounter in my daily walks through the Australian landscape. The fleeting yet profound moments I find in local plants, flowers, and gardens are at the heart of my practice. I am inspired by the delicate, often overlooked details that, when observed closely, reveal the resilience and vibrancy of life. These small but significant finds serve as the foundation for my abstract floral and landscape paintings.

In my art, I aim to celebrate the essence of nature—not through realistic depictions, but through bold, abstract forms that elevate the quiet energy of plants and gardens. My work reflects my reverence for nature’s intricate beauty, and my desire to bring attention to the often-hidden wonders of the natural world. Each painting is an exploration of how the landscape speaks to me: it could be the subtle play of light on a petal, the curve of a leaf, or the rhythm of growth that occurs just beneath the surface.

My practice is not only about capturing what I see, but also about fostering a dialogue between the internal and external landscapes—the emotional response I feel as I encounter these living forms, and the way nature’s rhythms mirror our own human experience. Through color, texture, and abstraction, I seek to convey the layers of meaning and connection I feel with the natural world, offering viewers a space to pause and reflect on the beauty that surrounds us.

Ultimately, my work is a tribute to the natural world, an attempt to elevate the often unnoticed moments in our everyday lives, and an invitation for others to see and appreciate the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary.
