Artwork Description

Sunshine in the morning poking its head through the beautiful gum trees. There is a quiet beauty to this landscape that invites you to celebrate nature and the Australian bush. Inspired by bushwalks close to home. This piece is reminiscent of the Australian Masters subjects however, i have added my modern impressionistic twist to bring it into our times.

This is a large statement piece to add energy and interest to a wall and can be used to lighten a room and add a focal point whilst providing you with hours of enjoyment. This piece comes alive to you so that you can smell the eucalypt on the early morning breeze, feel the soft warmth of the morning sun and hear the crackle of the grass underfoot. You will be waiting for the bird calls.

A natural oak frame would complement this piece however the sides of the work have been painted to continue the flow of the subject from any view.

Artist Bio

My work is an expression of my deep connection to nature, drawn from the subtle beauty I encounter in my daily walks through the Australian landscape. The fleeting yet profound moments I find in local plants, flowers, and gardens are at the heart of my practice. I am inspired by the delicate, often overlooked details that, when observed closely, reveal the resilience and vibrancy of life. These small but significant finds serve as the foundation for my abstract floral and landscape paintings.

In my art, I aim to celebrate the essence of nature—not through realistic depictions, but through bold, abstract forms that elevate the quiet energy of plants and gardens. My work reflects my reverence for nature’s intricate beauty, and my desire to bring attention to the often-hidden wonders of the natural world. Each painting is an exploration of how the landscape speaks to me: it could be the subtle play of light on a petal, the curve of a leaf, or the rhythm of growth that occurs just beneath the surface.

My practice is not only about capturing what I see, but also about fostering a dialogue between the internal and external landscapes—the emotional response I feel as I encounter these living forms, and the way nature’s rhythms mirror our own human experience. Through color, texture, and abstraction, I seek to convey the layers of meaning and connection I feel with the natural world, offering viewers a space to pause and reflect on the beauty that surrounds us.

Ultimately, my work is a tribute to the natural world, an attempt to elevate the often unnoticed moments in our everyday lives, and an invitation for others to see and appreciate the extraordinary in the seemingly ordinary.
