Barking Owl - Scratchboard (Unframed)

Scratchboard - A scratchboard is a Masonite Board, covered with a layer of white clay and thinly covered with a layer of black ink. The image is scratched into the board to reveal the white clay using a selection of scratching tools, like knives and sandpaper. Coloured India ink or watercolours are used to add colour and depth to the board.

This Barking Owl is a resident at Caversham Wildlife Park in Western Australia and was produced from my own reference photo.
Caversham Wildlife Park is involved with a number of programs that ensure the survival or Australia's native animals. A 10% donation will be given to the park upon the sale of this artwork.
