Artwork Description

Scratchboard - A scratchboard is a Masonite Board, covered with a layer of white clay and thinly covered with a layer of black ink. The image is scratched into the board to reveal the white clay using a selection of scratching tools, like knives and sandpaper. Coloured India ink or watercolours are used to add colour and depth to the board.

This Swamp Wallaby is a resident at Caversham Wildlife Park in Western Australia.
Caversham Wildlife Park is involved with a number of programs that ensure the survival or Australia's native animals. A 10% donation will be given to the park upon the sale of this artwork.

Originally from Liverpool in the UK, Sue emigrated to Australia in 2006 and made her home in Western Australia with her husband and two children.
Sue draws her inspiration from nature and the wildlife that surrounds us. A self-taught artist, Sue likes to use a variety of mediums and enjoys getting out of her comfort zone and trying new techniques, the latest being scratchboard art, or scraper board as it is alternatively called.
