White Flowering Gums

A joint art work by Sylvia and Anna. Flowering gums in my neighbourhood give me inspiration on a regular basis and in particular in Spring. The eucalyptus trees and bushes are many and varied from white, pink and red blooms. The blue green of the leaves also vary from long thin sweeping foliage to almost spade like.

After completing a Diploma in Visual Arts, Sylvia has been actively exhibiting her work in Melbourne and its suburbs. She has an interest in depicting iconic scenes of Melbourne, its flora and in particular people going about their everyday life. Using oil, watercolour, ink and lino cut prints she enjoys depicting the images as she sees them in real life.

While Anna grew up in a family of artists, she has always appreciated the beauty of complexity of art. Throughout her life, she has always been engaged in the artistic process with different types of projects and has learnt many different and eclectic skills from crocheting, to french polishing. There has always been a strong desire to experiment with different mediums and effects. This passion to create and extend her artistry has further progressed into paintings.
