This is a limited edition print of my original acrylic painting. This painting represents the innocence of children and their willingness to believe in the unseen. A quality that is precious and should be treated as such. It shows the faith of a child compared to the adults sitting in the darkness surrounded by doubt and fear. It is a very personal painting which reminds me of my childhood and my openness to anything that I was able to imagine or believe.
Tania Weekes is a Newcastle artist. Originally from Sydney, she has had a passion for art all her life and has been a practicing artist for over 20 years. She studied the Diploma in Fine arts at Seaforth Tafe in Sydney and Diploma in Graphic Design online through CATCA (Billy Blue Design School) Tania has exhibited throughout NSW and teaches art in Newcastle. She also paints murals locally for private homes and businesses. Her main influences are abstract expressionism and symbolism. Her work is God inspired, sometimes prophetic and usually, totally unplanned. Each painting revealing glimpses of a story that lures the viewer to look deeper into their own story. Her aim is to uncover places in the psyche that connect with her work on a spiritual level. Her love of colour shows in the vibrancy of her canvases. Her preferred medium is oils.
