Artwork Description

Acrylic on canvas, stretched and ready to hang.

Signed on the front.

This is a spread that my mum or Nonna, when my kids come with me, that she would put on the table for lunch. Fresh deli meats she purchased from her local deli that morning, fresh rolls. San Pellegrino for the kids, Bira Morretti for the men. Love this , we always spread our deli meats on the paper straight on the table for everyone to grab a roll and eat, mangare. She loves fresh cut flowers from her garden. This is a very personal piece. It’s a beautiful, fresh piece that I’m really proud of. Hope you love it as much as I’ve loved painting it.

Before painting this piece I had baked some Madeleines and decided that this piece would be French inspired. I found the name of a French port, Lille and thought it was a pretty bottle, the label was a great challenge to paint which I enjoyed. Decided to put my absolute favourite author and the first book of hers I had read and there you have it, this beautiful painting. I’m really proud of how it turned out, hope you love it.This painting is personal to me, it has been inspired by my sister. Here are a few things we love, books cheese and swapping books. This Sally Hepworth book ‘ The Good Sister’ was one she bought for me for my birthday, great author, I loved it. We love our Spritz drinks in summer and love to chat, as sisters do😊 we enjoy cooking and love Nagis cook book always swapping recipes.Long summers in our family in the afternoon when visitors came over, we would bring out an aperativo, olives, nuts and enjoy each others company. This is our Italian hospitality. This piece reminds me of summer , it feels fresh and bright, it would look beautiful in your kitchen.
This is how the Italians have their coffee when visitors come over. The homemade biscuits come out and a liquor, that’s our dolce vita, enjoying life through our food. These are my memories growing up in our family. Italian hospitality to anyone that enters our home, lots of beautiful memories.
