This botanical still life artwork was inspired by sunflowers from the local flower markets. It was painted as part of the 'Quiet Moments' collection - a series of paintings which focused on flower studies painted within small pockets of quiet moments after I returned from maternity leave.

"The sunflowers had so much character with their vibrant and smiley faces. I tried to capture their twisting heads and floppy petals with each brushstroke. I found it a fun challenge painting all the different colours needed to convey that sunshine yellow."

Artist grade gouache paint on 300gsm watercolour paper.
