This serene image provides a strong simple composition for impact at a distance, plus more and more subtle detail and depth the closer you get until you start to see the final delicate flicks of the brush in the highlights. The image is inspired by a day walking in the misty rain through a lush forest in the south of Japan, where a near white-out covered a mountain river and gently lifted to reveal deep rainforest above us. Difficult to show the subtly of colour in photos, the lightest areas are Dulux Chilled Mint, which is an almost-white cool green tone - the whites in this are not completely white but a lovely soft white-green lifting to darkest greens.
