Pause and breath in the gentle cool... This piece is all about freshness and calm, inspired by a wintry morning in the mountains where I became completely immersed in this pocket of forest. Time fell away and there was only the lovely embrace of a habitat that provided everything needed to the creatures here.

This piece is richly layered with delicate, organic mark making using a variety of tools and subtle nuances of colour to build the layers of forest understory from deepest crimson-brown to softest cool green. Ghostly sage green trunks speak of the perpetual life and death in the forest, and layers of time.

In line with my sustainability policy, I prefer to provide artworks on unstretched linen which is one of the more sustainable fabrics and removes the need for plastic bubblewrap. It will arrive in a mailing tube - much easier for handling!

As this piece comes as unstretched linen it will require framing to hang. It's done on fine weave Italian linen with triple prime, and ample fabric margin for any framing choice.
