Multiple layers of thin wash create whispers of texture as the river trickles toward the precipice of a waterfall. This is part of a new series inspired by the ACT’s Gibraltar Falls and their orange tones that come from iron oxide within the rocks, which will be very familiar to Canberra locals.
The textures and patterns in the rocks are further inspired by polished agate and jasper stones, exploring the idea of the rocks in their ancient landscape being reminiscent of eggs and ancient ecological processes.
