From a trickle through the moss and ruts of an ancient volanco, a creek tumbles out into the sun - swaying between warm rock and mineral glitter.
Large loose brushwork and water wash keep this piece lively and organic. Just as in the mineral-rich turquoise waters of the actual river, the splashes of turquoise were a thrilling accent to the ochre tones and darkest olive and grey.
Inspired by the seven waterfalls of Kawazu, on Japan's Izu Peninsula.
This piece is on unstretched linen, which provides for more eco friendly shipping that doesn't require plastic bubblewrap (Nature thanks you!). Arriving rolled in a mailing tube, it is also very easy handling. Any framer can prepare it for hanging, and my costs on unstretched pieces are around $200 lower to accommodate this step. See my website for more information or ask me about framing.
