Artwork Description

The moon was so big in the days around this painting that it must have sort of hypnotised me! It definitely inspired this painting. This sleepy nude has a sort of Henri Rousseau vibe!

Artist Bio

I am an artist from South Australia, painting from the heart. I have also started making clay sculptures of people and animals.

Many of my paintings tell a story. I paint in oils, acrylics, gouache and watercolours and my work can be illustrative, figurative, abstract or naive.

Patterns and animals often feature in my artwork and scenes of rest are also recurring themes.

As well as being inspired by the naive art of Croatia (where I was born) I find inspiration through my regular trips to Bali, where I often spend one month at a time . I plant myself on a balcony for a portion of each day, painting watercolours or drawing as I absorb the sights and sounds of the island and its wonderful people and birdlife.

For more than a decade I have taken part in exhibitions at Jackalope Studio Gallery in Port Adelaide every year ...especially during the S.A.L.A festival .

My work is regularly on the walls of Gitanjali at Walkerville and at Framing World at Sefton Park.
