Deer in the City

This artwork is inspired by a great artist called Franz Marc, with whom you will most likely be familiar. He was part of the Blue Rider Group which included Wasily Kandinsky. Unfortunately, he met with an untimely death in WW1 at age 36. I just adore his work in the Fauve tradition and this painting is very much in his style. I have tried to create the bright colours and shapes that he was well known for.

Wendy Sherwell has always loved art and started painting seriously about 20 years ago and has made a concerted effort to hone her skills. She loves painting bright colourful abstract art and her main inspiration came originally from the Blue Rider Group and the fauvism painters. Wendy is now branching out into abstracted landscape paintings and experimenting with large palette knives to create emotive individual original paintings. She is a very eclectic artist and is inspired by many things in the natural world. From time to time you will see some surrealistic art and there is a wide variety of styles in her portfolio. Experimentation with artistic ideas is what keeps her art alive and energetic!
