My Sacred Land

My Sacred Land is a surrealist oil painting of a landscape with a figurative presence. It has a feel of Dali about it but I wasn’t thinking of him when painting this but maybe by osmosis or subconsciousness he has influenced this painting. It has soft subtle colours mixed with a couple of bright orange areas for contrast. The photos of this painting in situ will show how it really makes a room sing.

Wendy Sherwell has always loved art and started painting seriously about 20 years ago and has made a concerted effort to hone her skills. She loves painting bright colourful abstract art and her main inspiration came originally from the Blue Rider Group and the fauvism painters. Wendy is now branching out into abstracted landscape paintings and experimenting with large palette knives to create emotive individual original paintings. She is a very eclectic artist and is inspired by many things in the natural world. From time to time you will see some surrealistic art and there is a wide variety of styles in her portfolio. Experimentation with artistic ideas is what keeps her art alive and energetic!
