Night is Falling

A moody oil painting of night falling on a dockside industrial area. Just a few areas of warm sky left before everything is engulfed in darkness. There is a vaguely threatening feeling which will be alleviated when the lights are turned on. Impressionistic as opposed to realism there are just suggestions of masts, tanks, jetty, etc.

Wendy Sherwell has always loved art and started painting seriously about 20 years ago and has made a concerted effort to hone her skills. She loves painting bright colourful abstract art and her main inspiration came originally from the Blue Rider Group and the fauvism painters. Wendy is now branching out into abstracted landscape paintings and experimenting with large palette knives to create emotive individual original paintings. She is a very eclectic artist and is inspired by many things in the natural world. From time to time you will see some surrealistic art and there is a wide variety of styles in her portfolio. Experimentation with artistic ideas is what keeps her art alive and energetic!
