Badlands IV

Badlands Series is inspired by the natural effects of the desert, such as sand storms, flash flooding and extreme temperature variations . The weathering effects disintegrate and alter mineral and rocks near or at the Earth's surface. This shapes the Earth's surface through such processes as wind and rain erosion or cracks caused by freezing and thawing. Each process has a distinct effect on rocks and minerals.

I am an Australian landscape contemporary artist. A former graphic designer from Melbourne, who paints full time. In my body of work I seek to describe how the unrefined elements of nature combine and form a harmonious synchronicity, forming a place of retreat. The paint colour and form combine signifying that one is not complete without the other. In my work I observe as readily as I direct. These works evolve organically. For me, freedom and fluidity are key features to these aerial desert landscapes. Relaxed yet structured, free-spirited, timeless, strong and elegant.
