Artwork Description

Watercolour on paper

Signed on the front.

"Proteas Quintet" by Anica Amphlett is an original watercolour painting and requires framing to hang.

I have a particular fondness for Proteas. Though they are frequently confused with Australian native flowers, they actually hail from South Africa and thrive beautifully in Australia. Some Australian natives like Banksias, Grevilleas, and Waratahs share a familial link with Proteas, as they are all part of the same botanical family.

My style of painting combines both loose strokes and detailed ones, as I aim to capture the delicate nature of my subject. I am slowly loosening the reigns on myself and allowing the magical nature of the medium to do its own thing.

The painting will arrive in a flat pack in a supported clear cello wrap and include a certificate of authenticity.
