BLUE OCEAN INLET

This piece is inspired by some of the stunning ocean inlets of Australia. I love how the deep blues and greens fade into the white sands. These awe-inspiring views take my breath away and beg to be painted! i use high pigment acrylic opaque and translucent paints mixed with pouring mediums and varnish to give a beautiful satin finish to my work.

I started my obsession with art more than 20 years ago. I work primarily with slow drying acrylics which allow me the opportunity to blend like oils but keep my colours very crisp. My first love is portraiture and I’m inspired by the strong women that surround me. I also love the turquoise Queensland waters on my doorstep and the textures and tones of the rugged Hinterland. I love the artistic freedom of expressing myself in my chosen medium and tend to follow my heart in my chosen subject rather than following a trend. I hope in my original art you find something you love and that speaks to you.
