The inspiration for this painting are the numerous rocky coastlines around Australia. In particular Point Peron, in Perth, Western Australia. A magnificent area in the bright sunlight but amazing as the sky darkens and the light disappears leaving glimpses of slippery rocks and churning seas. The painting has a slightly abstract feel as the shapes merge into one another.
