- This coastal landscape shows a morning on a beach and a fallen sand fence. Florida's coast is my favorite vacation place. Sometimes I get up early just to catch the first rays of light as the morning sun can make even ordinary scene magical. Its warm golden glow envelopes everything. The sun dances off the beach grass. The sky and the Gulf is calm. You feel peaceful. This is a beautiful beginning to a perfect day at the beach.
- I practice a traditional technique of painting in thin layers, starting with a tonal underpainting, taking my time with each piece and enjoying my creative process. I only work with professional grade oil paints. Each painting has at least 3-4 thin layers. My artwork has almost no texture.
After the painting is finished and cured for 2-4 weeks, then the protective varnish coat goes on, I usually use Dammar varnish that give it a glossy finish. I believe that Dammar makes oil paint appear more lustrous.
