Textural, creamy oil paint on reclaimed miniature stone tile
Signed on the front.
This artwork comes with an external frame
The Bemboka area of NSW is a favourite of mine for its rolling dairy farming hills and dotted farmhouses, against the backdrop of the Blue Mountains. I fall in love with this lonely, stoic little hut dwarfed by its landscape, every time I drive past it.
Working with oil on the smooth stone surface I get some gorgeous creamy effects of paint pushed around the surface, enabling me to get a textural, painterly feel. With the framing, I wanted to create the cottage style feel that comes with this era of farmhouse.
