Textural oil paint and ink pen on reclaimed miniature stone tile
Signed on the front.
This artwork comes with an external frame
This little gem was inspired by a hike through Japan's seven waterfalls of Kawazu on the Izu Peninsula. It was early Autumn and the forest was still lush green and misty as touches of the yellows and oranges began to show. We came across several little bridges like this one, swamped by the towering volcanic rock cliffs and this forests until they appeared as very delicate, sweet little structures in the ancient landscape.
The scene therefore suited a miniature artwork beautifully, and I love the way the striking greens sit against the crisp white and black of the framing. This piece would work beautifully in a little study nook, minimalist or contemporary kitchen/dining spaces, or even a small sun room.
The artwork itself is a unique original, 6cm x 7cm, in mixed media of oil paint and ink, painted on recycled stone tile, which provided a beautiful smooth surface for the delicate brush strokes and pen work.
The framing is professionally done a professional framing house, behind glass, with gallery standard finishing and hanging wire at the back.
