Red -capped Parrot at the Birdbath by Michelle Dujmovic
Red-capped Parrots are endemic to the South west of Western Australia. They visit our garden and bird bath regularly but being very shy they often fly away quickly if disturbed. I watch them from inside my studio which doubles as a great hide to view them.
I often feel they are such an iconic bird species in this part of the world being so unique with their loud coloring which is contrasted to their shy personality. I get a thrill every time I see them and I’m always inspired to paint them.
I hope by painting our Red caps I can highlight what a stunning this bird species they are.
